Senior Visiting Scholar and Head of Scientific-Research Projects at the Olympic Studies Centre of the International Olympic Committee and the European Audiovisual Observatory of the Council of Europe.
Founding Dean and previously served as Secretary of General Party Branch at the Faculty of International Media, Secretary General of the International Alliance of Higher Education in Media&Communications and Head of International Office and Professor and PhD-Candidate Supervisor at the Institute of Communication Studies, Communication University of China.
Held a temporary post at Hainan Free Trade Port in 2020-2022 and joined China’s ministerial and provincial development of “International Education Innovative Island”. Served as President Assistant at the Administration Bureau of Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP)Lingshui Li’an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone and Executive Dean at International United College. Beneficiary of a joint PhD programme of the China Scholarship Council’s State Key Laboratory at the Communication University of China and the University of Cologne in Germany.
Oversaw seven landmark projects in the establishment of international schools in over two decades, namely:
1. 2010 – 2017
Established the Secretary Office of the Chinese-led International League of Higher Education in Media and Communications and served as its Secretary General. The League developed into 65 top tertiary educational institutes from 36 countries, which covered and integrated disciplines related with media, such as arts, informatics, technology, engineering and management.
2. 2013 – 2018
Established and served as Founding Dean for seven years at the Faculty of International Media, Communication University of China, China’s first Sino-foreign cooperative educational institute for general media and art as approved by the Ministry of Education. Economic benefits were generated through the setting up of the institute, which involved foreign universities cooperations, licence application in the Ministry of Education, students and faculties recruiting, education space setting, assessment, career support and graduate assessment. Innovatively promoted the development of internationalised disciplines.
3. 2019 – Present
One of the first tertiary educational institutes to settle in the Hainan Free Trade Port. Served as President Assistant at the Administration Bureau of Lingshui Li’an International Education Innovation Pilot Zone. Co-established and served as Executive Dean at International United College, which began recruiting students in 2021, with the innovative educational model of “general sharing + small colleges”.
4. 2010 – Present
Expert at a expert and review committee of Sino-foreign cooperation education of the Ministry of Education since 2013.
5. 2013 – 2018
6. The joint school with the U.S. became the first Sino-foreign cooperative educational institute to be certified by the ACCSB.
7. 2015 – Present
Served as the Founding editor of Global Media and China, the first SSCI international academic journal in social science started by Chinese universities, which is co-published globally by the internationally publishing group SAGE.
8. Led and published the first multinational scientific research on the Olympic global communications as authorised by the International Olympic Committee, which has been included in the Olympic Museum.Served as Internationalisation Advisor at China’s Publicity Department, China Global Television Network, State Development & Investment Corporation. Visiting Professor at the Council of Europe, in the EU and universities in Switzerland, Italy, France and Greece. Author of two English monographs published by Routledge and Taylor & Francis and 20 theses in SSCI journals. Project Manager of the innovative cultivation of international talent of the China Scholarship Council.
