On November 11, the Gold Award Competition of the 8th China College Students' 'Internet+' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Higher Education Main Track came to an end at Chongqing University. The project of the College of Management and Economics (CoME) of Tianjin University (TJU) - "Beianju - the leader of domestic aerogel building insulation industry" won the national silver medal of this competition. Previously, this project has won the third place in Tianjin Competition Area.
The project team of "Beianju - the leader of domestic aerogel building insulation industry" is headed by Xu Changhaiyan, a 2019 undergraduate student majoring in business administration, and has 15 members, including Wang Yihan, a 2020 doctoral student. The team is under the guidance of Qin Junnan, Liu Junying, Li Geng, Zong Chao, Li Yi, Bai Yanzhuang and Li Jinding.
Through thousands of experiments, the team overcame the barrier of the application of aerogel materials in building wall insulation. Aerogel, one of the "ten magic materials that have changed the world", was applied to the construction industry to develop a new type of aerogel homogeneous insulation board with a thermal conductivity of 0.045w/(m · k), which is an aerogel exterior insulation board with extremely low thermal conductivity in China. Compared with the traditional building materials, the energy saving rate has significantly increased by nearly 15%. The company quickly seized the market and expanded production, and won orders worth 9 million yuan in the first two quarters of the successful industrialization of product research and development. Up to now, it has completed cooperation with Wanda, Vanke, Poly, Zhongtian and other groups, with the cumulative use area of products exceeding 9 million square meters, and has established long-term cooperation with several building energy conservation companies. Till now, 23 core patents have been granted, including the exterior wall thermal insulation and decoration integrated panel with 3D reinforcement and back bolt fastener installation patent technology, which integrates thermal insulation, waterproof, fireproof, thermal insulation and decoration functions, and has the advantages of convenient disassembly, firm installation, and four times longer service life. It is not only suitable for new industrial and civil buildings, but shows the absolute advantage of being very convenient and fast in the construction of energy-saving renovation of old house decoration. In the completed Poly Group project, the construction period has been reduced by 45%. The team project has far-reaching energy-saving benefits and application prospects, and participated in the formulation of 9 industry standards. Recently, the team took the lead in completing a new round of standard formulation of aerogel homogeneous insulation board, committed to becoming a leader in the domestic aerogel building insulation industry, so that scientific and technological achievements can benefit more people and bring them a comfortable life.

It is reported that the 8th competition has attracted 3.4 million projects from 14.5 million students in 111 countries and regions to participate since its launch, setting up the largest exchange platform for global innovation and entrepreneurship education, and promoting the formation of a new concept of talent cultivation and a new concept of quality.
