Recently, Xie Zhun, director of the Strategic Coordination Division of the Strategic Planning Department of China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA), led a team to conduct business research at the Research Center for National Intellectual Property Strategy Implementation of Tianjin University (hereinafter referred to as the "Research Center"). Zhang Wei, director of the Research Center and Chair Professor of Tianjin University, warmly welcomed the team and had a full discussion and exchange with them.
Before the discussion, Xie Zhun and others inspected the office conditions and supporting facilities of the research center. Zhang Junyan, executive vice director of the Research Center, introduced in detail the construction and management of the research center from the aspects of management construction, research team, brand activities, and future planning. After listening to the report, Xie Zhun stated that the Research Center for National Intellectual Property Strategy Implementation of Tianjin University had made important contributions to the relevant work of CNIPA, such as special research and information express tasks. Now that the construction of intellectual property rights (IPR) power has entered a critical stage, he hopes to strengthen the communication and coordination with Tianjin University's Research Center through this discussion, exchange ideas on major issues that need to be studied and solved for the construction of IPR power, and explore how to further tap into the role of Tianjin University's research center as a think tank to better support the construction of a strong country.
Later, the team from the CNIPA listened to the research center’s 2023 special research topics proposal, and conducted in-depth exchanges with the research center members on issues such as intellectual property management in the field of biomedicine, the construction of knowledge graph systems in the chip field, reform of the domestic priority system, the transformation of defense patents, and the construction of the domestic intellectual property data standard system.
Both sides expressed that at the moment when the institutional reform plan of the CNIPA returning to the direct administration of the State Council has been announced, it is necessary and important to have face-to-face discussion on the work deployment and planning of the research center in the new year. They look forward to strengthening communication and contact in the future, so as to promote relevant research to stand higher, look farther, and do deeper, and further enhance the research quality and support service capabilities of the research center.
