On June 14th, Mao Zhaofang, Party Secretary of the College of Management and Economics (hereafter called CoME) at Tianjin University (hereafter called TJU), Zhang Shuibo, dean of the School of International Engineering School of Management, and He Zhen, director of the Department of Industrial Engineering, went to South Africa and visited the College of Business and Economics of the University of Johannesburg and the Consulate General of China in Johannesburg.
Professor Randall Carolissen, dean of the College of Business and Economics at the University of Johannesburg, led a team to welcome the delegation from TJU to visit.
Both sides introduced the construction situation and development advantages of their respective colleges, and conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on teacher visits, collaborative research, student exchange, overseas talent training for executives, international exchange and cooperation, and reached preliminary cooperation intentions, taking new steps in inter school cooperation between China and South Africa.
Subsequently, Mao Zhaofang and his delegation paid a visit to Pan Qingjiang, Consul General of China in Johannesburg.
Consul General Pan Qingjiang warmly welcomed the visit of the TJU delegation and provided a detailed introduction to the relations between China and South Africa, also the situation in the region. Mao Zhaofang introduced that this visit focused on international cooperation with African colleges and universities and development services for Chinese enterprises in South Africa, hoping to make more great contributions to the "Belt and Road" initiative, and promote China-Africa inter school cooperation and innovative development of international integration of industry and education. Subsequently, both sides exchanged views on further strengthening educational and cultural exchanges and cooperation between China and South Africa, as well as serving the development of Chinese funded enterprises in South Africa.

The College of Business and Economics of the University of Johannesburg was established in 2018 as a rapidly developing new force, providing students with practical knowledge and skills to cope with the complex and ever-changing digital age. The college offers courses such as Doctorate in Digital Transformation Philosophy, MBA in Digital Transformation, and Executive Education, and collaborates with international partners such as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of California, Berkeley, and Shanghai China Europe Business School to jointly build a series of courses to further promote digital transformation in business.
