CoME Successfully Held the Summit for Principals of Famous High Schools in Sichuan and Yunnan

  On April 30 to May 2, CoME successfully held the Principals Summit of Tianjin University-Sichuan and Yunnan Famous High Schools. The summit aims to promote the discipline advantages, expand the influence of our school, set up a communication platform between our school and famous high schools in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces, and to strengthen the long-term close relationship between our school and the high schools, to promote the deep integration of basic high school education with higher education in universities and jointly select and train future leading talents for our country. The summit consisted of summit forum and field visit, attended by 32 principals and representatives from 22 well-known high schools and educational institutions in Sichuan and Yunnan provinces.

  On the morning of May 1st, the summit forum was held in the lecture hall of Science Library of Weijin Road Campus. Shu-xin Wang, the Vice President of Tianjin University, Jin-long Gong, Dean of Academic Affairs, Li Bin, the Vice Dean of Academic Affairs and the Director of Admissions Office, Bao-feng Huo, Dean of CoME, Shou-feng Ma, Deputy Executive Director of CoME, Bao-chen Yang, Vice Dean of CoME, Li-ping Fu, Dean of the College of Public Administration and the leader of Sichuan enrollment group, Da-li Luo, postgraduate student of CoME, Pei-yao Ma, alumni of the College of Environment who is a candidate from Yunnan, and teachers from Sichuan and Yunnan enrollment teams attended the meeting. The summit forum was hosted by Bao-chen Yang.

  On behalf of the Tianjin University, Shu-xin Wang extended a warm welcome to all the delegates, and demonstrated gratitude to the high schools for transporting numerous excellent students to our school, expressing that our school attaches great importance to long time cooperation with Sichuan and Yunnan high schools. He also introduced the work and achievements of our school in the construction of "Double First-Class" and the guidance of new engineering, and hoped to further strengthen the cooperation and exchange between our school and the famous high schools of Sichuan and Yunnan through this summit. Bin Li took "The Idea of A University and the Ideal University" as the title, combining with the growth and development of Sichuan and Yunnan students in TJU, to explain the idea and practice of our school in education, teaching reform and talent cultivation from five aspects: "First acquaintance with TJU", "Facing the future", "Student growth", "New enrollment policy" and "Enrollment over the years". He said better new policy of admission and growth will provided to the Sichuan and Yunnan students in 2019. Bao-feng Huo made a theme report on " Reshaping Business in the New Era", and systematically explained the history and development of business, combining with the background of the new era and the actual growth of students in CoME. He also introduced the college's innovative measures and results in the construction of teachers, curriculum reform, talent training and other aspects.

  Wei Mao, the Vice Principal of Shishi High School of Chengdu City, Sichuan Province, as a representative of the high school principals in Sichuan, proposed several suggestions on "All-around connection", "Whole-process connection", "Whole-time connection", "All-staff connection" and "All-needed connection" for our school to guide the early cultivation of top-notch innovative talents with the title of "Lofty Connection Cultivation of Core Qualities of Future Leading Talents", expecting that our school to go deep into the high schools and enhance students' cognition of our school. Kun Fu, the Vice Principal of the First High School of Qujing, Yunnan, gave the speech as the representative of high school principals, hoping to build communication platform for high school students, and achieve two-way communication mechanism of "Students come to TJU, TJU comes to campus". He also looked forward to our school expanding enrollment plan in Yunnan Province so that more students in Yunnan can share the growth of TJU.

  As a representative of the students, Da-li Luo, with the theme of "Listening to the Sound of Dreams Coming True", shared his own story of growing and gradually confirming dream of family and country through four aspects: "Build a solid foundation in Mianyang High School", "Grow in TJU", "Confirm original aspiration in the border area" and "Spread the wings and fly in the future". Pei-yao Ma, as the representative of the alumni, shared his harvest and perception through the three aspects of "Family education", "Study career" and "Work career", and thanked for TJU’s systematic cultivation.

  The principals and representatives also had a heated discussion on such issues as broadening the channels of enrollment publicity, increasing the intensity of enrollment publicity, tapping the potential of enrollment publicity, connecting the talent training system between high school and university, and improving the quality of talent cultivating, and expressed the hope of sending more high-quality students to our school. The participants also held a teacher-student exchange meeting with the representatives of Sichuan and Yunnan students, and had a detailed understanding of their study, life and growth in our school. During the summit forum, our school also issued a letter of appointment of "Tianjin university first-class outstanding talent selection and training program specially invited experts" for the principals of the high school.

  After the summit forum, delegates systematically investigated our school's talent cultivation environment, and visited TJU’ history museum, laboratory of the College of Marine Science and Technology, "Six Excellence and One Top " theme exhibition, Zhengdong Library, etc. The high school principals and representatives had in-depth understanding of the university with a history of 120 years from the history humanities and scientific research, teaching reform, talents cultivation and infrastructure.
