Speaker Profile :

Prof. Tan Jinsong is introduced by CoME, Tianjin University, through “Thousand Talents Program” of Tianjin, tenure professor at York University, and chair professor of Newmont Corporate Strategy. Serving as distinguished American Fulbright Professor, Prof. Tan once lectured in China for one year. His research interests are mainly corporate strategy, entrepreneurship and innovation, and corporate social responsibility, and he published multiple articles in leading journals of these research areas. He once served as an executive committee member of the Entrepreneurship Branch of the U.S. Academy of Management, deputy editor-in-chief, editor, and guest editor-in-chief for a number of international journals, and reviewer for a variety of major academic journals. Prof. Tan’s research was funded by the Ford Foundation, the North American Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation, and the Canadian Social Science Foundation. He also worked as evaluation expert for the National Science Foundation of America, National Natural Science Foundation of China, Social Science Foundation of Canada, and Research Grants Council of Hong Kong. He served as adviser on Chinese issues for federal senators and consultant for the World Bank and the Canadian International Development Agency as well. Prof. Tan provided strategic consultancy and training for many companies, including Hewlett-Packard, Disney, General Electric, Westinghouse Electric, Lucent, Dow Chemical Company, First National Bank, U.S. Marine Corps, Matsushita Electric, Hitachi Electric, Bank of China, China's Lenovo Group, Kelon Group, China Aerospace Industry Corporation, and the Three Gorges Corporation.
