In recent years, Doctor Xie has been committed to the Research of resource management and policy, and the teaching work of Operation Research and Multi-Objective Decision and Comprehensive Evaluation Technology, He achieves a number of innovative works in energy economics, environmental efficiency evaluation of power systems, energy and power development planning, etc. He has Chaired more than 10 research projects, including a youth project and a surface project of National Science Foundation of China, involved in drawing up the Thirteenth Five-Year energy development plan in Tianjin as the university leader, participating in several critical projects of National Science Foundation of China as the main researcher. As the first or corresponding author, he has published more than 40 papers in refereed academic journals, including 《Energy》, 《Applied Energy》, 《Energy Policy》, 《Renewable and Sustainable Energy Reviews》, 《Transport Policy》, 《Management Review》 and 《Chinese Journal of Management Science》; due to the outstanding scientific research, he won the second prize of the 14th social science excellent research of Tianjin (Ranking 1st) and the nomination of the Eni Award, also be selected in the Beiyang Youth Core Teacher Plan of Tianjin University in 2012 and the Beiyang Youth Scholar of Tianjin University in 2016.
Dr. Xie has cooperated with famous scholars, such as Professor Michael Pollitt of the Energy Policy Research Group of University Cambridge; Professor Yihsu Chen of the Energy Research Center of University of California, Professor Ying Fan of the Energy & Environmental Policy Research Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
