On December 27th, 2020, the 4th Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship New Year Forum of Tianjin University (TJU) was successfully held. This year's forum focused on the theme of New Challenges, New Opportunities and New Development. TJU alumni entrepreneurs gathered together to discuss the new direction of entrepreneurship, to meet the new challenges of innovation, and to seize the new opportunities of entrepreneurship in the new stage. Wang Shu-xin and Gong Jin-long, members of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice Presidents of TJU, Zhao Xin, Director of the Student Affairs Department of the Party Committee, Pan Feng, Director of the Office of Alumni and Foundation Affairs, Ma Shou-feng, Party Committee Secretary of the College of Management and Economics attended the forum. The forum was chaired by Sun Wei-jun, Deputy Secretary General of the Tianjin Alumni Association of TJU, and Pan Xiao-rui, Deputy Director of the Office of Alumni and Foundation Affairs.
Alumni Innovation and Entrepreneurship New Year Forum of TJU not only plays an active role in promoting the innovation and entrepreneurship ecology of TJU alumni, but also contributes to the construction of Tianjin's 14th Five-Year Plan, training and providing innovative and entrepreneurial talents, and cultivating more star enterprises.
There were three changes in this year's New Year Forum. First, the forum was organized in a new way, which was supported and co-hosted by Binhai Entrepreneur Club. Second, the forum presented a “terse yet forceful, new yet lively” look. Entrepreneurs from listed companies shared their entrepreneurial stories and attitudes, including industry insights and analysis in the fields of new energy and new materials, as well as expert dialogues on opportunities and challenges in the healthcare field. Entrepreneurs shared how to seize the great TJU opportunity. Besides, some investors delivered their deep understanding on technological innovation. There were 11 keynote speeches, 4 round-table forums and 3 thematic sharing sessions throughout the day. Third, the forum was designed in a new way, various activities were carried out both offline and online. Thousands of people watched the live broadcast through the 1895HOME applet.
In just two years, the alumni ecology of TJU has developed into an ecosystem including entrepreneurship lecture hall, innovation and entrepreneurship forum, entrepreneurship course, entrepreneurship competition, entrepreneurship acceleration camp, entrepreneurs club, venture capital fund, youth science and technology innovation award and innovation and entrepreneurship base construction.
