The 3rd Toyota Cup Was Successfully Held!

　　On November 29, the 3rd National College Innovation Competition of Industrial Engineering and Lean Management Final (Toyota Cup) sponsored by Toyota was successfully held in Tianjin University (TJU). The theme of the competition is "Lean Intelligence, Integrated Innovation".

　　Toyota Cup has been held every year since 2018. The 3rd Toyota Cup, which was officially launched on September 30 in 2020, has caused a sensation across the country, receiving entries of 401 teams from 125 units in 24 provinces. The Final was held in TJU both online and offline on November 29, and were broadcast live through the Bilibili website.

　　On the Final day, Professor Zheng Li, Chairman of Guidance Commission on Industrial Engineering Education under Ministry of Education of P.R.C and Vice President of Tsinghua, delivered a speech and pointed out that the competition combined students’ knowledge with the practice required by enterprises, and build a communication platform for teachers and students and all social sectors through the integration of industry and education.

　　On behalf of the organizer, Professor Mao Zhao-fang, Deputy Dean of the College of Management and Economics and Vice Chairman of POMS, conducted historical data analysis of the competition and explained the registration, selection and review of the competition.

　　22 teams presented their work online. Renowned expert judges from the industry evaluated and scored the entries according to the selected topic, research method, significance of conclusions and team ability. Professor Qi Er-shi, Dean of The College of Management Innovation of TJU, commented on the overall performance of the teams after the whole competition.

　　Lu Da-ming, Vice President of China Mechanical Engineering Society, commented on the competition. He reviewed the development of China's Industrial Engineering. Meanwhile, he expressed his sincere congratulations to the winning teams and heartfelt thanks to the efforts of all teams and the organizing committee.

　　Finally, the graduate group from Peking University won the Special Prize; 6 teams won the First Prize (including TJU);15 teams won the Second Prize (including Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics); 38 teams won the Third Prize (including Shanghai University of Finance and Economics).
