Singer from CoME Sings for Epidemic Prevention and Control

　　At the juncture of the COVID-19, the whole country is in one heart. Peiyang Chorus launched the original song "Hand in Hand" for the epidemic prevention and control. The lead singer of this song is Zi-zhuo Zhou, a 2019 undergraduate from College of Management and Economics (hereafter called CoME). His passion for vocal music and piano is his endless motivation. Let us listen to his story in music.

　　From the ignorance at the beginning to the joy of the present, I feel that the time and energy spent in this area is very worthwhile. When I first started learning, I thought about singing techniques, but later I was more concerned with processing emotional issues. Now I can sing wherever I go with friends who study vocal music, and I can even sing in the mall.

　　In the past, whether it was a chorus, a solo, or other performances, I got nervous five minutes before I took the stage, which has been reduced a lot with more and more performance experience. I believe that everyone interested in art and music will have a special passion for the stage. After standing on stage, looking at the lights, listening to the music, and entering the state of this song completely, it is like being drunk, which makes me feel pretty good.

　　Art has brought me a lot of power since I systematically learned the concept and content of art. When I ’m in a bad mood, I would go to the music classroom to play the piano and sing.

　　I always believe that if you believe in music, it will give you back. If you believe that music can bring you power, you will express the emotions in your heart, and other people with similar experiences will resonate with your music. This is the power of music and art.

　　Music that has real emotions and soul even without gorgeous rhetoric technique and complicated tonal changes, is just as touching as a chord combination. Like the piano soundtrack written by Ryuichi Sakamoto, which is simple and soothing, but full of thoughts. This is one of the reasons why I like music.

　　Today, through hard work, the current domestic epidemic prevention and control situation continues to improve, and the order of production and life is speeding up. Zi-zhuo Zhou presented the original song "Hand in Hand", paying tribute to countless medical staff, scientific researchers, police, community workers, and other heroes on the front line of the epidemic.

　　He has been studying piano since he was five years old, and he has been studying vocal music since high school. He has won first prizes in the 12th and 13th Chongqing Primary and Secondary School Vocal Competitions (High School Group). In 2017, he participated in the China-Japan-Korea KJC International Vocal Competition and won the first place in the Adult Vocal Competition in China. He once served as the head of the Choir of Chongqing No. 1 Secondary School, participating in various solo activities and competitions on behalf of the school.
