On May 19th, nearly 40 Grade 1999 alumni of Tianjin University (hereinafter refer to as TJU), majoring in Engineering Management, returned to their Alma Mater from all over the world. Shou-feng Ma, CPC Party Chief of CoME, Liang-xing Shi, Dean of Xuan Huai School, Xue-qing Wang, Hui Sun, Jing-min Zha and Jun-ying Liu, teachers of the Department of Engineering Management, Wen-qiang Li and Yi-ou Liu, teachers of the Alumni Affairs and Development Office, participated in the activity.
Shou-feng Ma on behalf of CoME welcomed alumni back to TJU to reunite, and put forward three hopes for Grade 1999 alumni of Engineering Management: first, he hoped the alumni would achieve greater success in the career. He congratulated the alumni on their excellent achievements around the world and said that the alumni were now in a rising stage of career development with the courage, experience, physical strength and experience, thus he encouraged them to make a difference. Second, he hopeed that the alumni could understand more about the current development situation of the school, college and profession while communicating friendship, and make suggestions based on their own experience, so as to give full play to the radiation role of the alumni as nodes and contribute their own strength to the development of CoME. Third, he hoped the alumni went back to Alma Mater often, visited the teachers, classmates and old friends. TJU would always pay close attention to the growth and success of our alumni.
Yi-ou Liu, teachers of the Alumni Affairs and Development Office, reported the work to the alumni from three aspects, including the development of Alumni Association, alumni work and future work planning, so as to fully improve the understanding of alumni work in CoME and better serve the alumni.
The alumni introduced their own experiences after leaving the university. Although their life experiences were different, the alumni all believed that their success was largely due to the education and influence they received in TJU, as well as the care and help of new and old friends and teachers in TJU.
"I have been engaged in International Project Management work after graduation, I'm passionate about my major", alumni Gao-feng Gui said, he made complementary remarks that the school motto of "Seek Truth from Facts" had always been his working principle and constant spiritual motivation.
Alumni Hao He, mentioned his work experience after graduation. He said that every time he told others that he studied as an undergraduate in TJU, it would always be a big hit. He said the history, international vision, industrial status and school motto of "Seek Truth from Facts" of TJU are the precious wealth of TJU students.
After graduation, alumni Zheng Qian got married and started a career in Tianjin. Talking about his Alma Mater and the campus time, Zheng Qian choked up, which aroused the feelings of every alumni, and made many alumni red-eyed.
"When I was at school, my grades were not very good, but basically stable," said alumni Xu Han, his words made all the teachers and alumni burst into laughter. "Even people like I have been on CCTV, it can be seen that the professional education level of engineering management of CoME is high." he joked.
Alumni Shuai Wu described her experience of switching to high-end jewelry after graduation, she said, "As for TJU students, they can also perform good even if they don't do work related to their major, because what TJU cultivates is not only professional ability, but also vocational ability, which is the TJU quality ".
After listening to the colorful life experiences of the school alumni, the teachers said that Engineering Management had become a brand major in TJU after years of development, which was inseparable from the efforts of students and teachers of each class of graduates. They hoped that alumni can use the accumulated knowledge and experience to feedback the school, at the same time to better improve alumni interaction.
After the activity, the alumni and teachers took photos in front of the No.25 teaching building, they went through the campus where they had studied and lived, as if they were back to the precious university days. Today, alumni gathered together to reminisce about the past, talk about Alma Mater development plan, and looked forward to meet fellow friends again.
