On March 15, 2019, the launching meeting of the National Social Science Fund's major project "Smart Supply Chain Innovation and Application Research" presided by professor Wei-hua Liu from the College of Management and Economics of Tianjin University was held in the conference building of Tianjin University.
Ying Yuan, Vice President of Tianjin University, Chun-fang Lu, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Shi-jun Yuan, Director of Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Office in Tianjin, Lin-bo Jing, Dean of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences Evaluation Studies, Professor Bing-lian Liu, Dean of the College of Economic and Social Development of Nankai University as well as the chief expert of Major Projects of National Social Science Fund, Professor Gen-lai Chen, Former Secretary-General of Tianjin Federation of Social Science, Professor Yu Li, former Vice Principal of Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, and Professor Bao-feng Huo, Dean of the CoME, attended the meeting. Members of the project team included Deng-cai He, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing, Yu-mei Zhu, Senior Director of the Public Affairs Department of Jingdong Logistics Group. Professor Wei-hua Liu, Professor Bo Li and Professor Guo-fang Nan from the CoME also participated in the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Jun-yan Zhang, Director of the Humanities and Social Sciences Division of Tianjin University and Director of the Office of Arts and Cultural Construction.
At the beginning of the meeting, Ying-jin Yuan, Vice President of Tianjin University, Shi-jun Yuan, Director of Tianjin Academy of Social Sciences Planning Office, and Bao-feng Huo, Dean of the CoME delivered a speech. Ying-jin Yuan expressed his welcome to the experts at the meeting and thanked the experts for their support for the scientific research project of Tianjin University. He emphasized that China's economic development has entered an era of high-quality development. As a strategic industry that enhances the quality and efficiency of the national economy, the smart supply chain will play an important role in the high-quality development of the economy. Shi-jun Yuan mainly proposed three suggestions for project work, namely, to build up high-quality consciousness, to pay attention to the construction of style of study and to grasp the schedule. Bao-feng Huo introduced the basic situation of the CoME, emphasizing that one of the important tasks of the the CoME is to do the research that the country and the people need; the major social science projects are important representatives of these researches. He gave thanks to the experts for their support of the research and hoping to conduct more extensive research in the future.
Wei-hua Liu, the project's chief expert at Tianjin University, gave a detailed introduction to the significance of the project research and the value of the selected project, the overall framework and expected goals, the key points, difficulties, innovations, sub-project division and content introduction, and carried out the arrangement of the upcoming work. Deng-cai He, the Vice Chairman of the China Logistics Purchasing Federation of the project team, made complementary remarks.
After listening to the project report, Chun-fang Lu organized discussions at the meeting. Experts put forward relevant opinions on the research content of the project and the future work direction. The participating experts put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the specific tasks such as key node control, implementation plan and schedule in the project and project implementation process.
Jun-yan Zhang conducted a summary of the meeting and made a request to the members of the research team. First, the research team should strive for excellence, aim at the evaluation goals, and dedicate to major project. Second, grasp the rhythm of research and strive to produce results every year. Third, focus on scientific research and education, and train outstanding doctoral, master, and undergraduate students.
