Delegation of College of Management and Economics(CoME) Attends the Second Cross-strait Seminar on Low-carbon Development and Green Growth Held in Taiwan

  On September 1, 2013, the delegation of Tianjin University’s CoME went to Taiwan to attend the Second Cross-strait Seminar on Low-carbon Development and Green Growth held in National Chengchi University in Taiwan, which was jointly organized by the Green Energy Finance Research Center of National Chengchi University and TJU’s CoME.

  This conference is a follow up of the first seminar on Low-carbon Development and Green Growth, which was held in Tianjin University in October 2012. Continuing their collaborative research efforts, scholars from the two sides discussed the development of low-carbon economy from theoretical and practical perspectives. Seminar topics include enhancing the efficiency of renewable energy, reducing carbon emission, energy pricing system, impacts of low-carbon economy on enterprise investment and social welfare, low-carbon city, carbon trading and carbon tax system. The topics reflect comprehensively scholars’ thinking and practice on low carbon development.

  Prof. Zhou Lifang, Director of Green Energy Finance Research Center, extended her expectation that research teams from both sides could share findings and practical experience through continuous research, could jointly improve the green innovation strategy of both sides, so as to bring the society-serving function of universities and research institutions into full play.
