The practical team went to the Fengyu Town (literally the Town of Phoenix and its Wings), where a minority lives. The place is far and remote in the southeast of China. The team left Tianjin on Jul 11, 2014 and underwent a period from Jul 14 to 25. The practical activities are to help the local lower-education schools and to investigate the status for the likeliness to develop the culture industry near the town.
The actions are:
1) The love relay. Before they departed, the team had held a painting auction to raise fund, together with Tianjin Aiyi Kindergarten, under the help from CoME, TU. They collected some 10 thousand Yuan and the money will be used to better the teaching in local kindergartens.
2) The love teaching-aids. The team made their communications with local authorities and schools, finding out the shortages in local education and the real demand of children. They would offer different teaching-related aids against the different ages for children with variant needs. For instance, they would launched the painting course in kindergarten, the paper-cutting and knowledge contest for the senior grades in primary schools, the minority dance and singing course in the junior grades in primary schools, and 12 Growth Share Conferences and 2 Study Skills Exchange Conferences for the middle schools students. Besides, they would make individual help to some students and held the seminar with their parents.
3)The investigation on the culture industry. The team would go to the streets, seeing the local houses and lanes, and visiting the century elderly and known painters. They would consult the head of local Culture Station and drop by the local cultural places. The local folk and customs would be their interest. Once they learned the local culture industry, they would offer proposals and solutions, if any.
4) And the love carry-on. Although they have backed to Tianjin, our actions are on the way. We dedicate to form a long term system, so that we can pass down our love to the town. The TU Alumni Society will capitalize the Yunnan children to make a visit in Tianjin and see the outside. The team will, under the help of CoME, lure more students to join this journey of love.
The practical actions are not only colorful, but also satisfactory to the town. What’s more is that this activity has set up a good beginning for the long term love communication system. The gains from the practice can be classified into three aspects. The first is that the teaching-related aids have made the children in remote minority place widen their views, inspire their minds, lighten their passion and dreams, and the care has encouraged the children to expect more for the future. The fund offered can improve the teaching facilities. The long term exchange system is established, and so the children can grow in a healthier way and into the pillars of state. The second is that the local culture resources have been investigated and better learnt. Then, more and better suggestions might be made for the development of local communities. The third is that the activities have endowed the members with social responsibilities and dedication spirit. As they see clear about their life value, they can remake a correct but correct life view and world view, and their consciousness and responsibilities to contribute the societies can be but strengthened.
