Sino-European International Summit of Operation and Management Held at TJU

  On 8thApril, 2014, Sino-European International Summit of Operation and Management and First Seminar on Medical Health Administration by TJU-Sino-European Medical Innovation and Cooperation Foundation was held at College of Management and Economics (CoME), Tianjin University.

  The Foundation is going to further strengthen cooperation with China in the area of biomedicine and management by introducing advanced philosophy of biomedicine innovation and system, hospital management mode and talents training into China. The Foundation has signed cooperation agreements withTianjin Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs (TAFEA)and Tianjin Municipal Health Bureau and set up Tianjin Talents Training Base in Europe.

  Three lectures were given on the Summit in the perspective of academics, practice and political economy.

  Firstly, Professor Kamman gave an academic lecture on reverse internet engineering, and introduced an idea of innovative supply base which was to provide solutions for consumer products and enterprises by interpreting a lifestyle and concept. This idea has been adopted by many companies, like Nanjing DSM Oriental Chemical Co., Ltd, Phillips Lighting, and some university hospitals. Professor Mamman is a tenure professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Groningen, an authority on procurement and supply chain in Europe. He is also a professor at Nyenrode Management (Holland) andUniversity of Pannonia(Hungary).

  Then Prof. Bax lectured on how medical health was developed in Holland and the impact of strategic decisions on the procurement and supply chain management by giving a case study on the Medical Center of the University of Groningen.

  Finally, Dr. Qu Ning gave a comparative report on the development at home and abroad.

  In the afternoon, Professor Kamman and Prof. Bax visited Tianjin University History Museum and they thought highly of the path of the university as the first university in China. Dr. Qu Ning joined in a meeting chaired by Prof. He Zhen (Associate Dean of CoME) with CoME representatives for details of future collaboration.
