Inaugural Meeting of Management Science and Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee for Higher Education Charged by the Ministry of Education Was Held at Tsinghua University

On August 28, 2013, the first plenary committee meeting, i.e. inaugural meeting of Management Science and Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee was held at Tsinghua University’s School of Economics and Management. Prof. Cheng Jianping (vice Chancellor of Tsinghua University), Liu Guqin (deputy Director with Secretary of Higher Education under Ministry of Education), and 40 Committee members from 38 domestic colleges and universities attended the meeting. Prof. Zhang Wei, Director of TJU’s CoME was elected vice chairman of Management Science and Engineering Teaching Guidance Committee, and served as head of Cost Engineering Professional Guiding Team, and chaired discussions of the Cost Engineering team. Zhang proposed that GB drafting should take into consideration not only macrocosm, engineering concepts, and the relationship among majors, but also various school levels. Regarding features and characteristics of GB, a survey on curriculum and capability should be conducted in various colleges and universities, and accordingly a draft of professional standard will be formed by the end of this year. The focus of the team next year is to concern collaborative meetings of project cost engineering instruction and teacher training applications. In addition,??a number of suggestions on the improvement of questionnaire design related to employment for students were made.
