Chinese and Foreign Experts and Scholars had Heated Debate on “Chinese New Normal”

  During the 2ndAnnual Meeting of IABME, on the afternoon of Sept. 28th, in the name of “Series forums of IABME”, College of Management and Economics leverages forces of the members of IABME, with global vision, these political, business and community leaders, masters of management and economists are invited as guest speakers to carry out face to face communication with teachers and students of Tianjin University. Under the topic of the Chinese New Normal, from aspects like “One belt, one road” strategy, technological innovation and talents cultivation, combined with their own experiences, these Board members had a heated debate on China’s Economy and solved questions from faculties and students, which provided a high-level thinking exploration event.

  On the Panel of “The important impact of ‘one belt, one road’ strategy on China's economy”, one of the panelists, vice president of China International Economic Exchange Center, former chairman of SASAC, honorary dean of CoME, Mr. Li Rongrong specially pointed out that "one belt, one road" strategy for China and the world has great significance in promoting world’s economic development, which can effectively improve the efficiency of resource allocation in China, China's manufacturing industry will be equipped with a combination of international demand, it will greatly boost the booming of region economy as well as the world economy. For this purpose, China has both domestic and international vast market, abundant material resources, strong policy support, but also should be found to promote the development of sustainable projects, in particular the needs for generations "tenacity, bear with the situation, do not complain, down to earth, tireless efforts", he encouraged the students of TJU to uphold the motto " seeking truth from facts ", devotion and gregariousness, the courage to play, listen to criticism, and withstand failures, to find their own position in China's economic development under the new normal. The founder of JFP Holdings, Mr. Jack Perkowski, he said that "one belt, one road" is a natural extension of China's economic development and strengthen China's cooperation with friendly neighbors while focusing on the flow of capital market product distribution is also the right time, and this is precisely to "one belt, one road" combustion and propulsion strategy, and will promote the development of China's capital market and mature. And this is precisely an important manifestation of China's new normal. Entrepreneurship and innovation among the public is an important part under the new normal of China's economy. Park and Vice President (International) of Royal Society of Edinburgh, Prof. Tariq Durrani had a deep discussion based on the topic of “The impact of new technology on society”. They believe that the development of new technologies has an important significance on speeding up the process of industrialization, and every one of us should be ready for the regime change in technology, and actively embrace the challenge without slack. "How to train Chinese students' creativity" is no doubt an important element in practicing of China's new normal. Proposed the “innovative thinking and creativity itself is more important and more should be concerned about the way of thinking’, the panelists, Distinguished Professor and Dean, College of Engineering, University of Miami, Prof. James Tien, Dean, Tasmanian School of Business and Economics, University of Tasmania, Australia, Prof. Chris Earley attracted more audiences’ response and interaction. Around the "China and the US Students Compare creativity", "Chinese students' creativity culture, way of thinking difference", "The role of different cultures in the culture of creativity," and so on, the two sides with each other interact frequently.

  Prof. Chris Earley also borrows the story of 22-year-old’s Einstein, who made remarkable achievements in the example to encourage students and make recommendations. In the IABME‘s meeting held in the morning of 28th, seven attended members listened to the report delivered by the dean of CoME, Prof. Zhang, who introduced the status quo, future plan and the implementation of recommendations proposed at the first meeting of IABME; in the following part, communication and discussions are made on personnel training, discipline construction and social services, etc. Members of IABME carefully "inquiring and consulting ", "combining Chinese and Western", made valuable recommendations targeted on crucial issues of CoME.
