Sixth Joint Meeting of Department Directors of Global Chinese Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management was held in Tianjin University

　　On July 25th, the Sixth Joint Meeting of Department Directors of Global Chinese Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management, namely, the Asian Industrial Engineering and Management Innovation Conference was held in CoME, Tianjin University. More than 240 people in the fields of Industrial engineering and engineering logistics management attend this conference in the theme of "Industry 4.0 and Product Upgrades", they are from nearly 100 universities of Canada, Singapore, mainland China, Taiwan and Hong Kong.

　　Dean of CoME, Tianjin University, Prof. Zhang Wei, chairman of the Taiwan Institute of Industrial Engineering and the vice president of National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Prof. Jiang Xingquan, chairman of the Federation of Industrial Engineering (Greater China) and the director of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Department of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management, Prof. Zong Fuii delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.

Jiang Xingquan believes that facing the imminent industry revolution, experts and scholars in "industrial" project will play leading roles in this revolution, and has been thought to develop, adjust and change their own education and research disciplines. As Co-Chairman of Joint Meeting of Department Directors of Global Chinese Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management, Zong Fu Ji said, this meeting had gone through five years, the participants also increased from the initial 20 people to nearly 200 people, with the increase in the number and influence, we increasingly hope to be able to make good use of this platform and make a contribution to be the leaders of Chinese industrial engineering disciplines together.

　　Zong Fu Ji said that, currently, all countries foresee that there will be a revolutionary change in industry, as a scholar of industrial engineering; these changes should not be ignored. In today's rapid development of various industries in Greater China, industrial engineering in the development of Chinese regions possesses more unique importance and urgency.

　　With the arrival of Information Age and further exacerbating of world economic globalization, the development and personnel training under the new situation of Industrial Engineering and Logistics Management is facing unprecedented opportunities and challenges. The proposal of Industry 4.0, China manufacturing 2025 and the advanced manufacturing of United States share similar goals. As the industrial sector is facing imminent a revolution, experts and scholars of industrial engineering will play the roles of leaders in this revolution, they have to think, adjust and change the education and research to develop their own disciplines. Under the new situation of sustainable development of industrial engineering and logistics management, this meeting is intended to provide an exchange platform for the majority of experts and scholars in industrial engineering and logistics management for theoretical study of teaching, results show and practice exploration. For the in-depth discussion related to theoretical and practical issues, such as reform and innovation of personnel training mode, it is estimated to promote the great development of industrial Engineering and logistics management. It is the first time to add a sector at the meeting, recommendation of outstanding PhD Candidate, and received five outstanding doctoral resumes from Hong Kong from Taiwan.
