College of Economics and Management, Tianjin University Won the Honorary Title "Model Collective of National Unity and Progress in Tianjin”

　　In the morning of October 30, Tianjin held its seventh national unity and progress awards ceremony, College of Management and Economics (CoME), Tianjin University was awarded the honorary title "Model Collective of National Unity and Progress in Tianjin ", to commend the conscientiously implementation of the ethnic policy of the Party and State, for the consolidation and development of mutual harmony socialist ethnic relations, which is an important contribution to cultivate multiethnic trainees who are cadres in Xinjiang.

　　Fully apply for its advantage of academic strengths, in accordance with needs of nation and Xinjiang Autonomous Region, since 1990; CoME has successfully held 36 sessions of economics and management training courses for Xinjiang ethnic cadres. CoME always treats this work as a strategic mission and glorious responsibility, and trained young cadres throughout most parts of Xinjiang from the Uygur, Kazak, Mongolian, Hui, Manchu, Tajik, Han and other ethnic groups of more than two thousand participants working in the field of economy, science and technology, dissemination, organization, the CPPCC, business and other dozens of government departments. Especially, since 2007, CoME further implemented the "CPC Central Committee and State Council’s Decision on Further Strengthening Human Resources Work", to meet the training needs of cadres in Burqin County, besides the normal training plan, six training courses were added for the county, CoME gave its full force to serve the economic and social development of Minority and Border areas. Meanwhile, for the high ideological and political consciousness and rich work experience among trainees, CoME give opportunities to them and make them to play their active roles in the ideological and political work in the establishment of the team "Helping Hand in Hand" among Xinjiang students and students of CoME.

　　CoME put the ideological construction in the first place, each program of cadres in Xinjiang has to set up party branches, program committee and strict organizational life system, and political studies are regularly carried out. Leaders of CoME also give great care to the trainees in terms of ideology, every ethnic festival of Xinjiang, they always gather together and celebrate for it. Especially, after the Urumqi "75 event", CoME also set up an ethnic unity educating propaganda team, invite trainees of Xinjiang as propaganda group members and gave keynote lectures for university students, which received good results.

　　According to the changing needs of economic development in Xinjiang and different characteristics of trainees in Xinjiang, CoME carefully arranges teaching content and creates the menu-based training courses. In the practice sessions, on the one hand, combined with the course objectives and trainees’ actual work, CoME organized visits to Tianjin and surrounding areas, and other economically developed coastal regions, so that cadres can experience dynamic economic and social development; on the other hand, practice themes and study objects selected by cadres in Xinjiang class, with the local organization department and the unit requirements, assisted by CoME, trainees carry out research combined with the specific problems to be resolved of economic and social development in Xinjiang.

　　Over the years, we insist on an interactive return visit mechanism, leaders of CoME repeatedly led to visit Xinjiang and had seminars with Autonomous Region Party and government leaders and related graduates of cadre training class. For 6 years, in use of holidays to inspect local research and lectures, CoME brought forefront trends of management and developments in economic, timely understanding of the course requirements, CoME listened to views and suggestions from trainees about the course arrangement and timely adjusted and enriched training content. When CoME learned that more exchange college students are wanted in Xinjiang, CoME gave its positive response. Since 2009, in every year, CoME transported 3-5 outstanding students who are party members to the cooperating units in Xinjiang to conduct one-year support- teaching activities. From 2010, CoME started its EMBA mobile classes in Buerjin County, despite of understanding the local county situation and the people, EMBA trainees also contributed 200,000 yuan to support local economic development, in order to make their own contribution in enhancing communication and interaction between coastal regions and Xinjiang.

　　In the 24-year history of CoME, it summed up a set of cultivation system, with ideological and political as the starting point, innovative teaching as the breakthrough point, focuses on serving students and paying sustained attention to providing training to ethnic leaders, which harvested trainees’ trust and affirmation in return. Among graduates of cadres in Xinjiang class, some in their own posts had better performance and promoted to new leadership positions and play greater roles, they made their own contribution by using their knowledge and hard work for the development and construction of autonomous regions. In this year, CoME develops the joint-PhD program with Qinghai Nationalities University, but also further extend the service for the motherland frontier.
