Two teaching cases of CoME was successfully selected into the case library of Canada Ivey Business School

Warm congratulations on the successful selection of two cases written by Wang Xiuqin and Li Xiaomei, teachers of CoME, into the case library of Ivey Business School in Canada, which is the first break that case of CoME went into the world's top business case library.

By the end of 2013, CoME has vigorously promoted the development of teaching cases, including teaching application and studying. Since the establishment of the case center, CoME has also formulated the recognition and rewards program for the achievement of case studies, and formed the detailed plans and working arrangements for the case work. In the meantime, CoME conducts extensive cooperation and exchanges with top-tier business schools such as Nanyang Technological University in Canada and Ivey Business School in Canada, so as to learn and draw on a wealth of successful experiences in case development, and enhance the case quality.

In the past four years, the case work has achieved great attention and extensive participation by collages leaders as well as teachers, and many gratifying achievements have been made. In the report titled "10th Anniversary of China's Management Case Sharing Center" released in 2017, the number of cases managed by CoME, Tianjin University jumped from less than 10 in 2013 to 166, and the number of storage cases in the National Institutions ranked 3.

Besides, the number for top 100 outstanding cases jumped to 14 from 2, ranking top 15. The Case Center was awarded the title of "best organization award" by Ministry of Education National MBA Teaching Steering Committee for 3 consecutive years.

The successful selection of cases written by Wang Xiuqin and Li Xiaomei into the case library of Canada Ivey Business School not only reflected the requirements of the college leaders and teachers from quantitative change to qualitative change, but also reflected the work progress and improvement after cooperation and exchange with foreign universities. We look forward to seeing more high-level teaching cases and case research results emerging in a row.

Case Name:The Pipeline Company: Financing for MNGPP

Introduction:The case describes the project financing of overseas gas pipeline projects invested by Chinese enterprises under tight deadlines, extremely low capital-to-project ratio and intricate interests of all parties involved in the project. This case is mainly adapted to the project financing courses.

(In 2008, the Multinational Natural Gas Pipeline Project was sponsored by China National Group Corporation to undertake a major international infrastructure project in Asia. The Pipeline Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of China National Group Corporation, established joint ventures with the host countries and took the lead in financing the project, which was required to be completed by the end of 2009. Initial investments and procurements were made, and payment would soon be due. However, there was alarge gap between the estimated total investment and the funds available. Numerous banks expressed interest in the pipeline project, but most required the sponsor to provide a guarantee for the project’s loan. Some banks also asked for an increase in the capital ratio from less than 1 per cent to 20 percent. The treasurer responsible for the financing of the project was now tasked with the issue of arranging the most effective way to finance the project.)

Case Name:Mental and Natural: Building a Cloud-Based ollaboration Platform in China

Introduction:The case describes China Smarter, a company that focuses on digital multimedia design and builds cloud-based multimedia crowd sourcing and collaboration platform to better utilize China's best multimedia talent and expertise without increasing the company's labor costs, enabling the company to Quickly and easily provide resources to freelancing professionals in various parts of China, crowd sourcing free and needed talent quickly and easily to crowds of free talent across China, provide the necessary training, coordinate complex projects and provide effective and secure Payment activity. However, even before the platform is fully operational, new opportunities for growth provide the company with three possible options. With only three weeks for entrepreneurs and their teams, deciding which one best fits the company's existing business model and making the most of its resources is the best way to ensure the company's future. This case mainly applies to undergraduate, graduate and short-term training on entrepreneurship management, innovation management and strategic management of three courses.

The entrepreneur and his team had just three weeks to decide on which option best fit the company’s existing business model, made best use of its resources, and was the best choice to secure the company’s future.)
