Bio:

Prof. Bayer was born in 1962 in Celle/Lower Saxony. Directly after High School Certificate he joined the army and became an officer in the logistics department. Later on he started a vocational education in banking, after examination and also during his studies he has been working in the loan department, in total for nearly ten years. In parallel he held teaching activities in the areas of Banking, Business Administration and Economics.

He studied economics with focus on business economics at Albert-Ludwig-University in Freiburg from 1986 to 1990, when he has got his degree in Economics. During his studies he wrote the thesis about “The German road haulage after 1992” and his PhD thesis “The financing of transport infrastructure in the context of reunification, private funding: an alternative to public financing?”.

This was followed by senior positions in the real estate industry before he has been working since 1995 as a Managing Director - last from 2006 to 2011 for a medium-sized consulting company.

In February 2011 Mr. Bayer became a Professor at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University in Loerrach. Due to the close contact to the Department of Economics forwarding, transportation and logistics, he was appointed as Head of Department of this successful division on October 1, 2011. Since 2012 Mr. Bayer also is teaching in the Master program and is responsible for General Management affairs. He is visiting Professor at Beijing Wuzi University, Peking/VR China.

His priorities for lectures, talks and business moderation include strategic corporate management, entrepreneurship, leadership, succession planning and traffic policy.
